Lakeview is a Florida "A" graded school! Lakeview Middle School began as Lakeview High School, built in 1927. This is the original high school building. The old gym and cafeteria were torn down and a new gym and cafeteria were built. Lakeview is proud of its heritage of excellence! |

The Media Center was constructed in 1994. The Media Center houses over 40 computers and 15,000 books, plus numerous videos, dvds, periodicals and newspapers. The media center bustles with students every day, reading, studying, and using the computers for research and homework. |

Marc Mero speaks to seventh graders Marc Mero is a retired amateur boxer and professional wrestler. He is best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation as Marc Mero and with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and World Championship Wrestling under the ring name Johnny B. Badd. He now spends much of his time speaking to teenagers through the G.R.E.A.T. program.

MATH COUNTS! Members of the Lakeview Math Club recently participated in two math competitions. The 25th Annual MathCounts competition was held at the First Baptist Church of Orlando on February 23rd where 37 public and private schools from 5 Central Florida counties competed against each other to try to make it to the state level of the competition. Lakeview’s Mathletes placed 9th in the ciphering round of the competition and an impressive 12th place in overall scores Team members included Shannon Hafeez and Anthony Piazza (6th grade), Ryad Hafeez and Christopher Piazza (7th Grade), Keron Prashad , Elizabeth Shirley , Sang (Bill) Lee , and Jonathan Rivera (8th grade). On April 19th, Lakeview students also competed in the Orange County Middle School Math Contest, held at Union Park Middle School. Over 200 students from 20 schools competed in 4 categories: an individual round, relay races, team problem-solving round, and a construction round. Members of the middle school team were Shannon Hafeez (6th grade), Brianna Chan (7th Grade), Mikayla Francis, and Kyle Oliver (8th grade). Members of the high school team included Ryad Hafeez and Leonardo Gil (7th grade Algebra), and Keron Prashad and Elizabeth Shirley (8th grade Geometry). Kyle Oliver placed 3rd in the individual middle school division and Elizabeth Shirley was among the top 12 individuals in the high school division. Coaches Mrs. Silva and Mrs. Covington would like to thank all of the students for their dedication and hard work preparing for the competitions and also congratulate them on a job well done!
